I have been wanting to share this since last week, and just no time to collect my thoughts to share this.
My dad was in the Normandy invasion, and even had his Ship (LST) and the yr 6-6-1944 Normandy Survivor on his head stone.
*********
how many times have we all heard that Angels leave us messages, and some times our loved ones reach through the curtain and leave us trinkets that only meant something to them.. many times a coin or specifically copper pennies.
John is my friend's husband, and he is a saint in that
1. he is great! and his work is superior.
2. he is putting up with me jabbering and also getting my hands in his way! (I call it helping)
John had been here working on the wall and it was time to place the fireplace mantle in the new location, and we had to remove the lid to get to the controls to put on the new manlel top. I saw in the cracks of the toungue and grooves a penny! I said to John," look at that he (Dan) must have been trying to even the top and stuck a penny in there...John said, I don;t think so, it is too low, it is not touching anything" then he said, "wow, it is a wheat penny".....I picked up the penny and felt a cool type feeling, can;t explain it.. but as soon as I picked it up I felt something and I look for the date.......1944.....I said to John.. "My dad wants us to know he is overseeing this project and we are making him proud!"
My day gave me a Silver Dollar with 1953 on it when they adopted me and said this is the yr you were born...." I still have that silver dollar.
I know the chance of finding a penny in there were about nil and for it to be a wheat penny with 1944 on it was too much for me to not believe.
So even thought he is off doing whatever.. he did tell me he was going to pop in now and then...I believe he did just that.
