Doug Green's Garden (slightly frozen version)
OK, I must have taken a left turn somewhere and instead of going South, went north. Darn but it's been cold, windy (the ferry was almost shut down because of the wind) and snowy. The only good thing I can think to say is, "I'm glad I don't live in Buffalo right now." (with their 2 metres - 6 feet) of snow in the last 2-3 days.

And yes, the garden is now firmly and fully down for the season although I do have to do a bit of deer proofing on the next sunny day (if we ever get one again) ;-)

I came off my social media diet this week. Posted a story about where I'm taking my websites etc right here.

In short, I'm taking the next step towards retirement. :-)

And I'm working that plan right now. I'm beavering away at the necessary work to consolidate websites down to 2.

In case you're wondering what the new pages will look like, here's an example of the Butterfly Gardens page. There's a ton of information about designing (with one design) setting up your backyard for both larva and butterflies and hints to keep butterflies around.

And there's a massive list of plants for both larva and butterflies (remember you need both)

Click here to check it out.

I'm working on some additional container gardening articles and upgrading them as well. You can see the one about tomato gardening in containers right here

And if you have always dreamed of having a greenhouse - I've finished all the pages on that section as well. Here's the main navigation page to lead you to your dream operation (and learn how to run it)

Craftsy. I'm told Craftsy is having a monster sale of courses next weekend for "Black Friday" through to "Cyber Monday"

I'm telling you this because I'm going to suggest you hold off until you get my link for those discounts. I'll be sending you a short email with a ton of links but you have to wait for Friday to get the deals.

p.s. for non-Americans. The US goes shopping crazy this weekend with more sales and death-defying early door openings than you can believe possible. Youtube will be full of shopper-fights by Saturday night and yes, it's bizarrely nuts. BUT they do sell a ton of stuff at ridiculous prices and every retailer is encouraged to participate. (I note it's creeping up to Canada as well…)

I've been told Craftsy is joining the fray. Wait for the links for some good gardening and other course deals. It will likely come out so it's in your inbox on Friday morning just in time for the sales to start.

I got my first seed catalog last week. That's all I have to say about that. Next year has already started and Mayo is already planning on how much work I'm going to do. Or at least how much work she thinks she's going to get me to do. There may be a bit of negotiating around the dining table in the near future (like as soon as she reads this) :-)

I hope all our American friends enjoy their family time. Mayo and I are joining a group of friends - many of them ex-pats - for dinner and celebrations.

Stay safe out there folks.
