Greetings Mountain Wolf. There's a thread here at Inner Connections somewhere in which I talked about the possible Cayce-Urantia connection. I'll try to sum it up.

A book came out a few years ago that tried to prove that Cayce was one of the channelers of the Urantia material. The Urantia Book was a compilation of channelings done between 1911 and the early 1930s. I think there were about 7 or 8 different channelers used, but their identity has always been kept a secret by the Urantia Foundation. In this book, the author, John Bunker, comes up with some very interesting clues that show that Edgar Cayce may unwillingly have been one of those channelers.

Edgar Evans Cayce wrote the introduction to this book, and in it he admits that the evidence is quite compelling, but that he is not totally convinced. I have to say the same for myself. I'm pretty convinced, but not totally. Supposedly, the part of the Urantia Book that Cayce channeled was the part about Jesus's life--which happens to be the only part of the Urantia Book that I've read.

Anyway, the A.R.E. slammed the book and it died on the vine, so to speak. There was a one-time printing of 400 copies of the book, but it immediately went out of print. I'm glad I have one of those copies. It is also this book that reveals that an island in Antarctica was named after Cayce, although it is misspelled. The author claims the misspelling was intentional.

I've been an Edgar Cayce fan for over 25 years. I think it is important that we do not put him on a pedestal. He was just an ordinary guy. And that's one thing I like about the Kirkpatrick book, is that it shows the human side of Cayce. The information coming through him was specifically aimed at the people of the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. The information is still valid and wonderful today, but I see it more as a springboard to the level of information we are seeing today. We've got to keep moving forward, taking up where he left off. Actually, you know what would be appropriate? If Cayce was studied in school. EveryONE should be introduced, and then those who want to pursue the material can attended advanced classes or something. But everyONE spends at least a week or two of their schooling studying Abraham Lincoln, so why not a few days on America's greatest psychic?

But you know what amazes me? Not how many people are unaware of Cayce, but rather how many are aware of him. And not just in America, but worldwide. Not bad for a poor shy Southern businessman who some, while he was growing up, considered a little "slow-thinking". Yet, while he was asleep, Cayce was the smartest man on the planet. He could answer any question. But, like Jesus before him, Cayce stated that whatever he could do, we could do better--or something like that.
